At Tayrona Colors Hostel, every corner has a story. Our famous hammock on the terrace, as Instagrammable as it is relaxing, is more than just a spot for taking photos or enjoying the view — it's a symbol of the living tradition of Taganga, a village with a seafaring soul.
🌊 Made by a fisherman's hands
This is no ordinary net. It was handwoven using traditional artisanal techniques — the same ones Taganga’s fishermen have used for generations to craft their working tools. The one who wove it wasn’t a decorator or a street artist, but a local fisherman who knows each knot as well as he knows the Caribbean winds.
These techniques not only ensure strength and durability but also connect anyone who lies on the net with an authentic cultural heritage, woven thread by thread with patience, wisdom, and the sea in their skin.
🎣 Taganga: a village that lives by the sea
Taganga, an old fishing village nestled between arid mountains and crystal-clear waters, has preserved its coastal and artisanal identity over time. Here, fishing is not just an economic activity — it's a way of life, an art passed down from generation to generation.
Many of the men and women of Taganga learn from a young age to row, cast the net, and read the sea as if it were an open book. And although tourism has brought new paths, the fishing spirit remains alive in every sunrise and in every canoe that returns to shore, full of fish and stories.
🧵 An experience that embraces you
When you climb onto our hammock on the terrace, you’re doing more than just relaxing. You’re touching a part of Taganga’s soul. You’re floating between mountains and sea, supported by a weave that connects tradition, landscape, and community.
We invite you to experience this with respect and gratitude, knowing that every knot tells a story, and every rest is also a tribute to those who continue weaving the present with threads from the past.
